How Does Hydraulic Over Electric Work?
The Max Brake brake controller uses hydraulic vehicle brake pressure to control electric/hydraulic trailer brakes. Max Brake uses a pressure sensor installed directly at the vehicle master cylinder to monitor vehicle pressure. It is easy for the handyman to install the pressure sensor without any special tools. The pressure sensor does not affect ABS brakes. There is no hydraulic brake line to run into the vehicle cab. As the driver applies the brake pedal, Max Brake Monitors vehicle brake pedal and sends a variable output to the electric or hydraulic trailer brakes. Since this unit is a true proportional controller, it makes your trailer brakes feel like they are attached to your brake pedal. You have complete control over how much or how little to apply the trailer brake.

After 7 years of successfully using & selling the Jordan Ultima 2020 cable driven Brake Controller we were informed by Camco awhile back that the Ultima has been shelved. This caused us to start testing a series of different brands of controllers. After testing, we are pleased to announce the Max Brake controller performs & lives up to our standards.
We have been using our Max Brake controller for almost 2 years. We have tested it on highways and back roads. We find no adjustment needed when going from highway to city driving. We also do not have to make adjustments when we change drivers at 2 hour intervals. We were able to easily set our controller to still have our trailer brakes come on first then the truck brakes as needed. We are experiencing smooth braking either when just rolling to a stop or if sudden braking is needed.
The Max Brake uses "CVBC" [Continous Variable Brake Control] technology. A process of converting hydraulic pressure, calibrated to your brake pedal motion, into electric current. As a result, your trailer will mimic your vehicles braking force. Complete control of the trailer brakes is as natural as using the brake pedal to operate the vehicles brakes.
